The new Chair of the World Energy Council is H.E. Adnan Amin
The Annual Meeting of the World Energy Council taking place in Panama on the 7th of October 2025 declared changes to the leadership of the Council.
We said farewell to Dr. Michael Howard who had been chairing the Council for the part 3 years. It has been a pleasure to work with him. He has also been to Tallinn to learn about the Estonian energy sector and support the activities of the Estonian member committee.
The new Chair of the Council is His Excellency Adnan Amin. Formerly, the founding director of International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and CEO of COP28. Exciting times ahead!
Also a new Chair for the European Region was elected, Mr. Agustin Delgado, Chief Innovation and Sustainability Officer at Iberdrola SA.
Missioon ja eesmärgid
Maailma Energeetikanõukogu Eesti Rahvuskomitee missiooniks on luua rahvusvahelisele koostööle tuginev teaduspõhine keskkond jätkusuutlikku energeetika kujundamiseks Eestis.
WEC ja Eesti ajalugu
Eesti võeti vastu WEC-i liikmeks 29. juunil 1937.aastal Pariisis. Eestit esindas Rahvuslik Jõukomitee eesotsas direktor J. Veeruse ja professor P. Kogermaniga.
