World Energy Trilemma Index 2018 ranks Estonia at 40th place

World Energy Council publishes annually a World Energy Trilemma report which list the countries based on their energy systems energy security, energy equity and sustainability.

According to the World Energy Trilemma Index, Estonia was ranked at 40th place which is 2 places lower than in 2017.

Estonian energy system has proved itself in the energy security field being awarded with A level and a rank of 19 in the energy security sub-category. Energy equity has been awarded with level B and a rank of 44 in the energy equity sub-category. Environmental sustainability received a level D and a rank of 114 in the environmental sustainability sub-category. The later is affected by the electricity export to neighboring countries.
